OUR CHARACTERS

Peter O'Connor and Pete Andrews have a life long interest in  Greek mythology and in particular the works of Homer.  Homer's two great epic poems, The Illiad and The Odyssey are the corner stones of western literature and 3000 years after they were first spoken they continue to resonate and have a profound relevance to who we are and how we live our lives.

Dr. Peter O’Connor

Peter is a Jungian psychotherapist engaged with men’s issues for the past 40 years. He has written several best selling books, two of which specifically relate to men and their transitions through life; Understanding the Mid-Life Crisis and The Inner Man. Peter recently completed his latest book The Odyssey - An Ancient Story for Modern Men.  He is now living in Hobart, Tasmania where he continues to write and support the St. Kilda Football Club.

Pete Andrews (aka Panagiotis Anagnostatos)

At 14 years of age Pete was given The Odyssey to read by his uncle and it has had a profound and lasting impact on his life.

“This wonderful narrative wove itself into my life. Homer spoke to me as a second generation Greek Australian leading me back to my ancestral home of Ithaca. This island in the Ionian Sea drew me in with an unimaginable force. When I first placed my feet on the sacred land of my father I was enveloped by its charisma. Ithaca has become a central theme in my life.”
